Fill The Blues Bus
This Christmas, The Salvation Army have partnered with the Blues to bring more joy to children across their region. Due to cases of poverty, illness and other circumstances, many families within New Zealand struggle to buy presents and miss out on celebrating Christmas.
Together, we believe every child deserves a present this Christmas, with the Fill the Blues Bus campaign. The aim is to collect 43,000 gifts, a gift for every seat at Eden Park.
From November 8 there will be gift collection points, including The Salvation Army Centres, dotted around the Blues region - in Auckland, Northland and North Harbour - where we encourage you to drop off unwrapped presents. This all leads to a massive collection day on December 9 where the Blues men’s and women’s players will help scoop up the region’s generosity and deliver it to family in need.
Additionally, the Blues will provide the community the opportunity to purchase Christmas Trees and in return encourage people to bring along toys/gifts to donate to children, who otherwise would go without this Christmas.
